COVID-19 initially sparked great interest in crisis leadership training, but the lessons learnt will be valuable long beyond the pandemic, writes Seb Murray.

Allison Wheeler-Héau, Director of Open Programmes at the Cambridge Judge Business School, says crisis leadership skills “are widely recognised as an important managerial attribute.”

“Sound crisis leadership can be a competitive advantage for an organisation, and we have seen during the pandemic that some companies made great strides in spite of the upheaval,” Allison says. “By the same token, poor crisis leadership can cause organisations to flounder as better-led rivals move ahead.”
