Spoken word poetry, song and parkour performances took place on and around the building site for the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities this week, as Oxford University held a foundation ceremony to mark two years until the building is completed.

A new clinical trial to find a vaccine to protect people against Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) launched last week (Friday 15 September 2023).  This is the third Phase I clinical trial of the ChAdOx1 MERS vaccine, developed by researchers at the University of Oxford’s Pandemic Sciences Institute. It is the first trial in older people.

Two projects led by the University of Oxford have received a major funding boost from the Faraday Institution, the UK’s flagship institute for electrochemical energy storage research. The funding is part of a £19 million investment to support key battery research projects that have the potential to deliver significant beneficial impact for the UK.
